Summary

This book is a book about a spider named Anansi who had six sons, all who were good at something. The first one was good at seeing trouble, the second was a road builder, the third a river drinker, the fourth a game skinner, the fifth a stone thrower, and the last one was cushion because he was very soft. One day Anansi left home and got lost. See trouble cried out that their father was in danger, and so Road builder built a road to where their father was.Once there river drinker drank a river since Anansi fell into a river and was swallowed by a fish. Game skinner cut the fish in half to help Anansi, but then a falcon came and took Anansi, so stone thrower threw a stone at the falcon. Anansi was falling, but cushion made his land softer. Anansi found a strange light that night and would give it to his son who save him, but they could not decide. Anansi gave the light to Nyame, which is the God of All Things for Ashanti people, and since Nyame saw that they could not decide it took the light to the sky with it. Nyame keeps it there for all to see.

Evaluation

I do not think that I would use the book in class, because in a way it is a story about the beliefs of a culture. The illustrations in the book are good and colorful, and they help when it comes to the text. The book cannot really be tied to anything in my opinion, but it is still a good book. I just do not think that I would use it in my classroom.
