Title: Where In the Wild?
Author: Yael Schy and David M Schwartz
Age group: 3-7 y/o

Genre: Biographical/ Informational

Summary

This book is a multi genre book by Yael Schy and David M. Schwartz. The book consists of poems and they give clues as to where the animal the poem is about may be hiding. Next to the poems, is a photo of the animal camouflaging and so the poem gives hints for the reader to try and find the animal. If they cannot find it, then all they have to do is lift up the flap of where the photo is, and they highlight where the animal is while blurring and darkening the background.

Evaluation

This book was really interesting to me because I like the fact that it is a multi genre book and the poems were good. I also liked how it had the picture for the reader to try and find the animal the poem is about and then the flap to flip the page and find out where the animal is if the reader could not find it. The pictures were really nice and the reader can tell that they are actual pictures taken by someone. The book can used when it comes to unit of biology or science. The book can also be used when it comes to a un it in English about poems. I would use the book in the class as a fun read aloud and to try and get to see if the students can find the animal that is camouflaging.
