Summary
Moonshot, is a book about the flight of Apollo 11. It is a book that gives small details of the preparation for Apollo 11, and details about what its like inside the ship. The book goes on about how everyone is watching and is excited for the take off, and how Armstrong and Aldrin leave Earth. They go into space and land on the moon. Once there they tell the people on Earth that are watching “The Eagle has landed.” Then once they walk on the moon, they get back into the ship and head back home.
Evaluation
I do not think that I would use the book in class, because although this was a big step for human kind, I do not see myself teaching the kids about it. The illustrations were great though, they were so detailed and kind of made me feel like I was in space and on the moon. The book can be tied to science class when they learn about the planets. The book may also be tied to a unit of History when learning about NASA. One more unit that the book can be tied to is English when it comes to writing an essay on a book.
