Summary

One of the traditional literature books that I read was Turkey's Gift to the People by Ani Rucki. This story was about how the "people," which refers to animals, were in danger because there was a great flood coming their way. All the animals helped in a way, but the ones who truly helped were Mr. and Mrs. Turkey. They saved all of the seeds so that when the flood was over, they had food to survive and be able to rebuild.

Evaluation

I think that I would use this book in class, because there are some connections that I can make from this book. One of them being, that I could teach students, that we are not the only ones who are affected when a natural disaster happens. I could also use this book to show that by helping one another, we can accomplish many things, just like in the book they managed to get to safe ground and save the seeds. It's like they say "Team work makes the dream work." I can also use this book in the classroom to teach students about one of the many natural disasters that happen in our world.
